Police raid Dart's Lounge in Lorain

LORAIN — Police raided Dart’s Lounge about 12:30 a.m. today.

Lorain Police Department SWAT and detective bureau and the Ohio Investigative Unit responded to a large party at the East 28th Street bar, according to Lorain police Capt. Michael Failing.

The party included strippers, illegal alcohol sales and drug use, he said. At press time those involved were being detained, with charges pending further investigation.

Failing said police had been to the bar roughly two weeks ago and found it was operating without a valid liquor license. He said police will look to have the building boarded up.

Dart’s Lounge has been a problem for police for a while, he said. They have barred officers from the building during nightly walk-throughs, Failing said, and police have responded for drug use and several shootings at the bar.
