EATON TWP. — The Ohio Highway Patrol has identified those who were involved in a fatal crash about 11 p.m. Saturday night on state Route 82.

Richard Dublin, 48, of Cleveland, was driving a 2016 Toyota Corolla east on Route 82 when he attempted to pass a 2016 Honda CR-V driven by David Fischer, 77, of Brunswick Hills Township. Dublin struck a 2019 Kia Soul driven by Oscar Deleon, of Lorain, head-on.

The Toyota bounced off the Kia, went airborne and struck the Honda, according to a news release. The Honda and Kia then struck guardrails.

Dublin and Deleon suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash and were pronounced dead at the scene by the Lorain County Coroner’s Office. Dublin was not wearing a seat belt, and alcohol use is suspected.

A gofundme account has been set up by the family of Oscar Deleon for funeral expenses.

Fischer and his passenger, 75-year-old Noreen Fischer, suffered non-incapacitating injuries and were transported to Southwest General Hospital and Health Center in Middleburg Heights.

Route 82 was closed at multiple intersections while first responders investigated and worked to clear the scene, which was near the Eaton Township-Columbia Township line in front of Rt. 82 Auto Gallery.
