Four Amherst residents were charged with theft of utilities after a police investigation stemming from the city’s meter replacement project last year.
According to a news release from Amherst police, utility workers discovered indications of theft, starting the investigation. As a result, David Ziemba of Cross Avenue, Giancarlo Verde of Rivers Edge Drive, Curtis Survance of Wilshire Drive and Benjamin Perez of North Main Street were each charged with theft of utilities and criminal mischief. Verde and Survance were also charged with possession of criminal tools.
Ziemba, Verde and Survance are scheduled for court dates Feb. 27, and Perez is scheduled for a court date Feb. 22.
