SHEFFIELD TWP. — The driver involved in a fatal hit-skip has been identified.
Delmar Board, 41, of Elyria, was driving a white 1995 Chevrolet Suburban involved in the crash that killed Roslyn Arroyo, 49, of Lorain, according to an Ohio Highway Patrol news release. Arroyo was attempting to cross Lorain Road at North Ridge Road when she was hit about 9:20 p.m Sunday. She was taken to University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center and pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
Board did not stop after the crash, and the SUV was found abandoned on 28th Street in Lorain on Tuesday.
Board is not the registered owner, according to the patrol, and the vehicle was reported stolen after the crash.
The crash remains under investigation and no charges have been filed. A report will be forwarded to the Lorain County Prosecutor’s Office following the investigation.
According to Elyria Municipal Court records, Board was convicted of domestic violence in 1995; driving under suspension twice in 1997; driving under the influence, no operator’s license and lighted lights required in 1997; driving under suspension and falsification to avoid a ticket in 2000; and telecommunications harassment in 2006.
According to Lorain Municipal Court records, he was convicted of driving under suspension in 2008; and traffic control device violation and driving under suspension in 2006.
According to Lorain County Clerk of Common Pleas records, he pleaded guilty to complicity to burglary in 1997; and pleded guilty to domestic violence and aggravated menacing in 2001.
