ELYRIA — Three Lorain men were indicted on charges of aggravated robbery and abduction for their roles in an alleged robbery in Lorain.
Kardel Crooks, 19, Christian Sledge, 26, and Micah Charlton Jr., 25, were indicted on aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, kidnapping, robbery, abduction and obstructing official business by a Lorain County grand jury. Sledge also was indicted on a count of having weapons under disability and each of the counts on his indictment include specifications that he is a repeat violent offender and had a firearm on him when the offense was committed.
On Sept. 10, the trio went to the home of a friend of Crooks, according to Lorain County Prosecutor Dennis Will. When the friend answered the door, the three “pushed their way into the house.”
“They held a gun on him and told him they wanted his money,” Will said. “He gave up a certain amount of money. They continued to demand more money, saying they knew there was more.”
The abduction and kidnapping charges stem from the three allegedly holding the victim against his will at gunpoint, Will said. The obstructing official business charge was filed because when police first questioned the men about the alleged crime, they lied and said they knew nothing of it, Will said.
