ELYRIA -- A 19-year-old Thornwood Boulevard man is wanted by city police in Saturday's shooting of a 27-year-old Middle Avenue man in the 100 block of Hodge Court.
Warrants for felonious assault and discharging a firearm at or into a habitation, both second-degree felonies, have been issued for the arrest of Curtis N. Mack in connection with Saturday's shooting of Aaron Jackson in Wilkes Villa, Elyria police Capt. Chris Costantino said Monday.
Costantino said Mack is to be considered armed and dangerous.
"It's not advisable to approach him, just call your local law enforcement agency," he said.
Jackson and Mack apparently have had an ongoing feud "for a couple weeks now," which culminated in Saturday's afternoon's shooting, just before 4 p.m., Costantino said.
"In this situation, this was an unprovoked attack," he said. "For some reason, Mack just started shooting at Jackson."
Costantino said Jackson ran and Mack chased him, shooting at the intended target as he fled. Jackson sustained a bullet wound to the left calf and was treated at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland.
Police did not immediately have updated information on Jackson's condition, Constantino said.
Anyone with information on Mack's whereabouts is asked to call the Elyria Police Department at (440) 323-3302 or their local police agency.
