UPDATE: According to the FBI, Jeremy Lease was arrested without incident in Lorain this evening.
ELYRIA – Police and FBI are searching for a 30-year-old homeless man wanted in connection with a downtown Elyria bank robbery that took place Friday afternoon.
Police identified the suspect as Jeremy D. Lease.
Arrest warrants were issued for Lease for aggravated robbery.
Lease also has active felony warrants for his arrest through the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office. He has no known address and is considered homeless at this time.
At 1:42 p.m. Friday, Elyria police Capt. Chris Costantino said a white male, later identified as Lease, walked into the lobby of the Fifth Third Bank in downtown Elyria with a note demanding money and claiming to have a weapon.
A teller gave Lease an undisclosed amount of money and afterwards he run out of the bank.
No one was hurt in the robbery.
Costantino said Lease is described as being in his mid 30s, 6-foot, 2-inches and about 195 pounds with dark short cut hair. He was wearing a yellow t-shirt, denim blue jeans, work boots and blue sunglasses.

The public is asked not to approach Lease as is considered armed and dangerous.
