No serious injuries reported from South Amherst head-on crash

SOUTH AMHERST — Two men walked away from a head-on collision without life-threatening injuries Thursday afternoon.

The Ohio Highway Patrol and South Amherst and Elyria Township fire departments arrived at the crash scene shortly after 2 p.m. at state Route 113 and Bechtel Road.

Elyria Township Fire Chief Steven Holtzman said one of the drivers had his leg stuck in the car and needed firefighters to extract him, but he was not seriously injured.

According to Ohio Highway Patrol Trooper Tadhg Karski, the crash is under investigation and further information is not available at this time.

The drivers’ names were not released.
