Lorain police seek information in Sunday fatal shooting (UPDATED)

LORAIN — A Lorain man is dead following a shooting on the city’s east side early Sunday morning.

According to a news release from Lorain police, officers responded to 911 calls and were sent to Indiana Avenue at 12:39 a.m. Sunday.

Once there, officers found a man and a woman with gunshot wounds.

Carlos Jerome Lauderdale, 36, was found in the street and had died prior to police or paramedics arriving on scene. A 25-year-old woman was located inside a residence with a gunshot wound and was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland where she was treated and released.

Police Lt. Ed Super said no additional information is being released at this time, including the female victim’s name and the initial police report, because there “too many loose ends” in the investigation.

Anyone with information on the incident is urged to call the Lorain Police Department Criminal Investigation Bureau at (440) 204-2105.
