WAKEMAN — A transport van carrying 13 people was rear-ended on state Route 60 about noon Wednesday, causing multiple injuries.
Sheriff’s Deputy Anthony Gibbs said the van was traveling south and preparing to turn left into the parking lot of Rising Sun Centers, which provides day programs for adults with developmental disabilities.
While the Rising Sun Centers van, which contained 11 clients and two employees, was trying to turn, a black Volkswagen rear-ended it, causing minor damage to the van’s bumper. Gibbs said. The Volkswagen had moderate front-end damage.
One employee and three clients suffered injuries that weren’t life-threatening and were taken to a hospital. The driver of the car had minor injuries but was not taken to the hospital.
The ages and details of those involved in the crash have not been provided by police. Rising Sun Centers declined to comment at the time of the crash.
