LORAIN – Police arrested two men in connection with the burglary-turned-homicide in Lorain on Tuesday.
In a news release, police announced the charging of Lorenzo Garcia, 31, of 14th Street in Elyria, and Antonio Jeremiah Martinez, 24, of East 30th Street in Lorain, with aggravated murder.
Garcia’s parole officer arrested him on a violation while Lorain police arrested Martinez.
Officers brought Martinez and Garcia to the Lorain Police Department for questioning Thursday and Friday. Based on evidence and Garcia’s statements, police said they believe he is the primary suspect, according to a news release.
The two are being held in the Lorain City Jail awaiting arraignment at the Lorain Municipal Court.
According to a news release, at about 10 p.m. Tuesday, Lorain officers responded to a “burglary in progress” call at 3625 Amherst Ave. There, officers found Linda Wisniewski, 67, dead. Kenneth “Chip” Williams, 28, was found with serious injuries and was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland and was listed in critical condition Thursday.
At this time, police said they aren’t looking for additional suspects.
“We have captured and arrested the two men responsible for this vicious crime,” officers wrote in the news release.
