Two men have been arrested in connection with a shooting last week in North Ridgeville.

Police believe Christian Martinez, 20, of Lorain, shot Jacqueline Dienes, 54, of Avon, at the end of Taylor Industrial Parkway on Jan. 4. He then got into a maroon 2001 Jeep Cherokee police believe was driven by Jonathan Barnette, 21, also of Lorain and fled. Police said Martinez and Barnette were both temporary employees for Multi-Link Inc. on Ternes Avenue in Elyria, but haven’t found a direct link between them and Dienes.

Martinez was arrested the day after the shooting on an unrelated domestic violence warrant and has been in police custody since. He faces charges of attempted murder, a first-degree felony, and felonious assault, a second-degree felony, and is currently in the county jail.

Barnette was arrested Thursday night and faces charges of complicity to commit attempted murder, a first-degree felony, and complicity to felonious assault, a second-degree felony.

Police believe the Jeep belonged to another co-worker and has been impounded.
