Lorain man tells police he shot intruder; victim flown to MetroHealth

LORAIN – A 32-year-old man was in critical condition after police say he was shot while breaking into another man’s home.

Police are not releasing the name of either person at this time.

According to police, officers responded to calls of a shooting at 1:51 a.m. Sunday on Colorado Avenue where they found the 32-year-old with a single gunshot wound to his right thigh.

Police say the man was bleeding heavily. He was taken to Mercy Hospital and then flown to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland for treatment.

The 21-year-old male resident of Colorado Avenue said the 32-year-old man was breaking into his home when he shot him.

The incident is still under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time.
