NORTH RIDGEVILLE – Police cited four local establishments Thursday for alcohol sales to an underage person.
North Ridgeville police, in partnership with the STOP Underage Drinking Taskforce and the Ohio Investigative Unit, targeted businesses for underage sales using an underage informant.
The purpose of the investigation was to gauge the extent to which grocers, convenience stores and gas stations sell to minors and people under the age of 21.
Employees from BP Friendship, 38800 Center Ridge Road, Butternut Corners Market, 34885 Lorain Road and Walgreen’s, 33760 Center Ridge Road and Sunrise Marathon, 8995 state Route 83, were cited for underage alcohol sales.
A 19-year-old woman was used as an informant and attempts to purchase alcohol were made at 19 different establishments.
