UPDATE: Schwartz Road in Avon reopens after utility poles repaired

AVON – A dump truck took down two utility poles in Avon on Wednesday, closing Schwartz Road between Spruce Court and Sandy Lane and leaving hundreds without power.

According to police, the truck hit the poles around noon. No charges have been filed against the driver, who police said stayed at the scene.

The road remained closed until after 10 p.m., but is now open to traffic. A total of 238 FirstEnergy customers in Avon, mostly in the southeastern part of the city, lost power for the afternoon.
