One Grafton man was taken by LifeFlight and another was charged after an early-morning crash in Eaton Township on Thursday.
Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol were called to a crash on Route 83 near milepost 7 around 1:40 a.m. According to the patrol, a Chevrolet Silverado driven by Joseph Capiccioni, 29, of Grafton, had rear-ended a Subaru Forester parked in the roadway with its lights off.
The driver of the Forester, Robert Laurence, 48, of Grafton, was extracted and taken by helicopter to MetroHealth Medical Center. The patrol said Capiccioni failed a breath test and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. Alcohol is also believed to be a factor for Laurence. The crash remains under investigation.
