LORAIN — A Lorain police officer has been charged with domestic violence.
Lorain police said in a news release that Officer James O. Connell was arrested after a report of a domestic violence incident involving him.
The release, which contained no details on what led to the charge, said the call came around 12:15 a.m. Connell was booked into the Lorain City Jail and was due in court today for an initial appearance.
The release said Connell, who has been with the Police Department for five years, has been relieved of his police duties while the criminal case and an administrative investigation proceed.
