ELYRIA — Police executed a search warrant this morning on an Elyria man who was charged with trafficking fentanyl.

Brandon Ball, 28, was arrested 7:45 a.m. Tuesday when police searched his apartment on Fox Hill Lane, said Capt. Chris Costantino.

Ball is charged with trafficking fentanyl, possession of fentanyl, possession of drug paraphernalia, having weapons under disability and possession of marijuana.

Costantino said police found 6.6 grams of fentanyl, a .40-caliber handgun, $700 in cash and 17 grams of marijuana.

Costantino said Ball is linked to a person who overdosed after buying fentanyl and was “near death.”

He said the Police Department’s Narcotics Unit “continues to aggressively pursue individuals who are trafficking heroin and fentanyl.”
