ELYRIA – Police arrested two people in connection with selling cocaine and fentanyl after numerous complaints from the community about what was taking place at a home at 427 West Ave.

Steven Gilbert, 29, of Kaiser Court, was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence, trafficking in fentanyl near Elyria High School, trafficking in cocaine near Elyria High School, possession of fentanyl, possession of cocaine, drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

Nicholas Cabot, 50, of West Ave., was charged with permitting drug abuse and drug paraphernalia.

Lt. William Pelko said the Police Department received several calls about suspicious activity and drug activity coming from the house.

Narcotics detectives searched the house and Cabot and Gilbert were arrested.
