ELYRIA – Detectives were able to convince a Maple Heights man to turn himself in after allegedly robbing a Family Dollar last month.

Jo’Nathan Le’Shone Lee, 25, of Maple Heights Boulevard in Maple Heights, was booked into the Lorain County Jail at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, about two weeks after police issued a warrant for his arrest.

Lee is charged with aggravated robbery after police say he tried to rob a woman in the parking lot of the Family Dollar on Lake Avenue.

Police said the woman was leaving with an undetermined amount of money to make a deposit when Lee, with a handgun, came from around a trash bin at the store. Police said he took the money and ran, leaving the woman unharmed.

Elyria Police Lt. William Pelko said Wednesday that detectives were able to reach Lee by phone and talk him into coming to the Elyria police station where U.S. Marshals were waiting for him.
