Motorcyclist remains in critical condition after crash

LORAIN — A motorcyclist critically injured in a Saturday crash remained in critical condition at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland on Monday night, according to a nursing supervisor.

Scot Donohue 45, of the 2100 block of Garfield Avenue in Lorain, was injured in a crash at the intersection of Kansas Avenue and E Street about 4:30 p.m. Saturday. Donohue collided with a Kia Sportage driven by a 72-year-old Sheffield Lake woman who also was critically injured.

A report released by police on Monday night did not identify the woman. Metro will not release the conditions of victims if their names are not provided.

The report said Donohue was thrown from the motorcycle by the impact. He was found lying facedown in the intersection bleeding from the head with a cut on his right leg.

The report didn’t list the cause of the crash and stated that he was not wearing a helmet. Ohio law does not require adult motorcyclists to wear helmets.

Donohue’s driving record includes convictions for drunken driving, speeding, failure to control and driving an unsafe vehicle.
