Blotter: Woman reports someone tried to break into home

Wednesday, July 30

  • 4:40 a.m. — 300 block 16th St., police chased a man after hearing he’d had an argument with another man at a house. He initially gave a fake name when police caught up to him and was issued a citation for obstructing official business.

Lorain police

Sunday, July 27

  • 1 a.m. — 1100 block W. Erie Ave., police found a man urinating while walking down the sidewalk.

Wednesday, July 30

  • 10 a.m. — 4700 block Andover Ave., someone tried to open a woman’s door while she was inside her house. She told police she saw a man running away through the woods.
  • 10 a.m. — 4100 block Norfolk Ave., a woman told police her son, who lives with her, took her car without her permission.
  • 10 a.m. — 1700 block E. 30th St., a friend reported her two friends who were dating were, fighting outside of her house.
