ELYRIA — A Cleveland man facing murder and other charges in the beating and shooting death of Davion Strupe on July 1 will face a Lorain County grand jury.
Anthony Marcano, 22, waived a preliminary hearing scheduled for Tuesday in Elyria Municipal Court.
Marcano is one of four people accused of killing Strupe during an altercation on Garden Street during what police have described as a melee involving about 30 people. During the attack, Strupe tried to flee and was shot in the back, Elyria police said.
Also facing murder charges are Todd Wells, 21, Markus Martin, 26, and Tristen Belfiore, 17.
Several other people have been charged with aggravated riot in connection with the death of Strupe, including Tyler Wells, who court records indicate also waived a preliminary hearing Tuesday.
