The Ohio Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle injury crash that occurred at 6:20 p.m. Friday on U.S. Route 20 in Sandusky County.
Bruce A. Simkus, 42, of Woodville, was traveling eastbound on Route 20 in a 1994 Dodge Viper with Megan A. Simkus, 41, of the same address, when it ran off the right side of the road and struck a concrete culvert. Both suffered serious injuries and were flown to a Toledo hospital.
The crash remains under investigation, but alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this crash. The road was closed for about three hours while emergency personnel were freeing Bruce Simkus from the vehicle.
