- 6:56 p.m. — North Abbe Road and Antioch Drive, Ryan Kette, 29, Bay Village, arrested and charged with improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident, drunken driving and failure to wear a seatbelt. Kette is accused of leaving the scene of an accident then rear-ending a car stopped at a red light and leaving the scene before being stopped by Sheffield police on Waterford Drive. Police said Kette was drunk and repeatedly cursed them. They said he refused to take a field sobriety test or a Breathalyzer test at the police station. They said Kette has a concealed carry permit out of Wayne County, and they found a loaded semi-automatic pistol on the passenger floorboard of his car and an ammunition clip next to it with 15 rounds in it.
- 10:05 p.m. — 800 block Broad St., Shannon Perry, 34, same address, arrested and charged with persistent disorderly conduct. Police said Perry called them about a noise disturbance by a neighbor and she cursed at them when they said the complaint was unfounded. They said she was arrested after continuing to shout profanities after being warned not to.
Friday, June 20
- 12:45 a.m. — 900 block Leona St., police patrolling the area around Elyria Hyundai at 845 Leona St. noticed four people get out of a vehicle that went to the dead-end of the street. Police could not see what they were doing but heard a loud noise soon after. The four ran to the vehicle and drove off, but police stopped it. A search of the car turned out a large exploded firework in the trunk. Cody Faulk, 18, a Lorain man in the vehicle, admitted to igniting the firework. He was cited for discharging fireworks.
Thursday, June 19
- 5:33 p.m. — 18 West Ave. a woman told police she saw her ex-boyfriend walking around her car about 11:30 p.m. one night earlier in the week. The next morning she discovered three tires slashed on the vehicle. The woman told police the man had been harassing her with phone calls. The tires were valued at $225.
