Two face charges in theft, assault

LORAIN — Three men stole a Lorain man’s phone and pushed him off a porch when he tried to stop them, police said.

Tommy Frye, 23 and Joseph Oglesby, 33, were charged with aggravated burglary in the 1200 block of West Eighth Street early Sunday.

About 1 a.m. Sunday, Aaron Bailey, 45, told police he was in his house in the 800 block of Brownell Avenue when Frye, Oglesby and another man entered his house and stole his cell phone. Bailey ran after the men and started fighting them on the porch before one of the men grabbed him from behind and threw him off the porch, police said.

Bailey hit his head on the concrete and lost consciousness for a moment. He was taken to Mercy Regional Medical Center while police found three men matching the description of the suspects near the home, police said.

The men were held in Lorain County Jail on $15,000 bonds each on Tuesday. They have court appearances at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Lorain Municipal Court.
