Woman who drove stolen car into Boys and Girls Club sentenced to 21 months

ELYRIA — An Elyria woman who was driving a stolen car that crashed into the Lorain County Boys & Girls Club in Elyria was sentenced to 21 months in prison.

Toni Metelsky, 21, pleaded guilty to charges including DUI, felonious assault, aggravated vehicular assault and failure to comply during a court appearance Friday. Her driver’s license also was suspended for two years.

According to police, on July 24, Metelsky and a passenger, Robert Donaldson, were involved in an attack on a Concord Avenue resident in a dispute over Metelsky borrowing his car without permission.

Eric Coward told police when he asked the pair to leave, Donaldson pinned him against a wall and Metelsky struck him in the head with a frying pan. When a neighbor intervened and said he was calling police, Donaldson and Metelsky stole the car and fled.

Donaldson, 20, is still awaiting trial on felonious assault charges.
