Resident charged after allegedly crashing into parked car

LORAIN — A loud bang outside her apartment Monday night led Gina Henry, of Lorain, to look out and see that someone crashed into her car and six people running from the scene, police said.

Christine Bailey, 40, of Lorain, was charged with failure to control and fleeing about 8:30 p.m. Monday at Ashland Avenue and West 22nd Street.

Police arrived to see Bailey walking quickly southbound down Ashland Avenue. Bailey told police she was involved in the accident and that she had been driving her Chevy Malibu with passengers in the car, the report said.

Bailey told police that she lost control when another car drove into her lane, which led to the crash.

Though a couple of witnesses said they saw six people get out of the car after the accident, Bailey denied this and told police she only had two people with her, a report said.

Bailey was taken to the Lorain City Jail until she was released Tuesday on bond.
