Elyria blotter: Man says equipment stolen from truck outside church

Wednesday, March 12

  • 9 p.m. — 1400 block West River Road, N., a man told police someone stole his black Chrysler Sebring from a parking lot.
  • 9:37 p.m. — 200 block Washington Ave., a man told police plumbing equipment was stolen from the back of his truck while it was parked outside of a church.

Thursday, March 13

  • 1 a.m. — 200 block Parmely Ave., Charles Kesterke II, 33, was charged with felonious assault after he got into a fight with another man, according to police.
  • 1 p.m. — 900 block Foster Ave., a woman told police she backed her car into a telephone pole.
  • 3:41 p.m. — 1300 block Middle Ave., a woman told police she saw two men run from her house and went inside to find items missing.
  • 6:21 p.m. — 100 block Harvard Ave., police checked inside a residence that had an open front door and found copper piping missing.

Friday, March 14

  • 12:02 a.m. — 1800 block Middle Ave., Donald Byrd, 50, was charged with possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia after they searched him and found cocaine in his cigarette pack.
  • 2:30 a.m. — 400 block East River Road, Xavier Bonilla, 22, was charged with criminal damaging after police saw him punch the hood of a car.

Wednesday, March 12

  • 4 p.m. — 1600 block E. 29th St., a woman said her neighbor’s apartment door was forced open while her neighbor was away.
  • 8 p.m. — 1400 block W. 17th St., a man said his phone went missing while his friend was asleep at his house.
