Man faces charges for allegedly setting girlfriend's pants on fire

ELYRIA — A Lorain man who allegedly set his girlfriend’s pants on fire last year has been indicted on charges of aggravated arson, felonious assault, disrupting public services and domestic violence.

Shadow Parsley, 20, is accused of attacking Briana Rush on Nov. 1 after she talked to police about his alleged involvement in a burglary, which he felt led officers to question him, according to Lorain police.

Rush went to a garage on McKinley Street around 9:30 p.m. and the two began to argue. Rush reported that Parsley broke her cell phone, hit her with a garden rake and poured gasoline on her before pulling out a lighter and setting her pants on fire.

Police reported that Rush was able to get her pants off and flee to a neighbor’s house. Lorain County Prosecutor Dennis Will said Rush wasn’t seriously injured.

Parsley also was indicted on a burglary charge for an Oct. 18 incident.
