ELYRIA — Three men were arrested and charged with murder Wednesday in connection with the shooting Sunday morning that left an Elyria man and father of two dead in his car.
Jeris Geiger, 21, of Grafton Street in Oberlin, and Andre A. Jackson, 19, of Middle Avenue in Elyria, were charged with murder Wednesday at a Maple Heights home. Jordan L. Williams, 25, of West River Road South in Elyria, was charged with murder for the same incident an hour later at a house in Cleveland. Williams was also charged with possession of drugs, drug abuse instruments and cocaine.
Police say the three are to blame for the death of Antonio Spraggins, 22, of Elyria.
Spraggins, who was seen playing pool at T&A Bar about 11 p.m. Saturday, was found shot to death in his car at the intersection of Foster and Lake avenues at 2:15 a.m. Sunday. Bullet holes were found in the driver’s side of his car. Spraggins was declared dead at the scene.
An autopsy later determined Spraggins died from a gunshot wound to the torso.
Although police are not releasing a motive in the case, the four men knew each other, according to Elyria police Capt. Chris Costantino.
Spraggins, a 2010 graduate of Elyria High School, had a 5-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter.
Geiger and Jackson were being held at Lorain County Jail on a $1 million bond each. Williams was being held in Lorain County Jail on a $1.5 million bond.
All three have a hearing at 1 p.m. Monday in Elyria Municipal Court.
