Lorain blotter: Man accused of entering home, trying to sell items

  • 2:07 a.m. — 700 block W. 14th St., Brendan Murphy Jr., 19, same address, issued a citation for disturbing the peace. Police said Murphy was warned about a loud party he was hosting, but refused to end the party.
  • 9:16 p.m. — 4600 block Meister Road, Clarence McCall, 50, 2900 block Forest Lane, Lorain, arrested and charged with trespassing. McCall is accused of entering a house without the residents’ permission and trying to sell them items he had in shopping bags. The residents said McCall wouldn’t leave until they said they were calling police.
  • 10:48 p.m. — 1100 block W. 23rd St., Henry Vargas, 1900 block Lexington Ave., Lorain, arrested and charged with criminal damaging. The owner of an inflatable lawn Christmas decoration identified Vargas as one of three men who crushed the decoration on the homeowner’s front lawn, police said.
