Elyria, Lorain blotter: Overdose patient charged with drug possession at hospital

Wednesday, Dec. 25

  • 3 a.m. — 200 block Fairlawn Ave., Randall Perkins, 44, same address, arrested and charged with two counts of domestic violence. Perkins’ mother said he pushed her and assaulted his mentally disabled brother after getting drunk.
  • 5:56 a.m. — EMH Elyria Medical Center, 630 East River St., Jessica Mohr, 24, 19000 block Whitehead Road, LaGrange, arrested and charged with possession of drugs. An EMH nurse said Mohr had been treated for an apparent heroin overdose and was getting dressed when a bindle of heroin fell out of her bra. Mohr attempted to swallow the bindle, but the nurse grabbed it, according to the nurse.

Thursday, Dec. 26

  • 12:02 a.m. — 1100 block Garden St., Jason Casarez, 32, 1300 block W. Erie Ave., Lorain, arrested and charged with assault. Casarez’s uncle, who, according to police, had a cut and swollen left eye covered in blood, said his nephew punched him in the eye.
  • 7:39 a.m. — Express Lane Oil, 1029 Broad St., the shop manager said someone broke a rear garage window to gain entry and stole $160 from the cash register between 4 p.m. Tuesday and 7:25 p.m. Thursday when the manager arrived for work. He suspects an employee who hasn’t shown up for work for several days.

Saturday, Dec. 21

  • Noon — 1100 block W. 22nd St., a woman told police she was evicted from her home and her landlord sent three women to clean out her house. She said the women stole her belongings, including two vacuums.

Thursday, Dec. 26

  • Noon — 1300 block W. 25th St., family members reported Mary Helen Raims missing.
