Vermilion man critical after crash

VERMILION TWP. — A South Amherst man was critically injured in a crash at 14708 Kneisel Road about 12:35 p.m. Sunday, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol’s Sandusky post.

Gary McKisic was driving west on Kneisel east of Coen Road when he veered to the right and went off the road, over-corrected, then went off the left side of the road, striking a large rock and two trees, according to a news release from Lt. Anthony DeChoudens.

McKisic, 47, of the 200 block of West Main Street, was wearing a seat belt.

He was hospitalized in critical condition at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland on Sunday night, according to a nursing supervisor. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
