Grafton, LaGrange crime: Couple loses only pair of car keys during fight

Sunday, Nov. 24

  • 9:35 p.m. — 900 block Oak St., officers arrived at a residence after an argument ensued. Officers learned that the wife threw her husband’s truck keys into their backyard because she was mad at her husband for “texting” other women. Officers gave the women a flashlight to try to locate the lost keys, but she was unable to find them. The husband and wife were advised to stay away from each other, but neither could leave the property because the keys to their only vehicle were lost in the backyard.

Monday, Nov. 25

  • 11 a.m. — 900 block Main St., Grafton Neighborhood Food Mart, a complaint was filed in reference to a possible gambling violation. After obtaining information, a search warrant was requested and received through Elyria Municipal Court. The search warrant was served and two gambling machines were seized.

Monday, Dec. 2

  • 10:49 a.m. — 1000 block S. Main St., the Grafton Electrical Department supervisor said that sometime between Nov. 29 and Dec. 2, unknown person(s) cut a hole in the rear security fence to the department. Nothing was taken and only the fence was damaged.

Wednesday, Nov. 20

  • 10:12 p.m. — 200 block E. Prospect St., theft complaint.

Thursday, Nov. 21

  • 6:05 p.m. — East Main Street, LaGrange Tavern (a closed business), a caller reported seeing juveniles “hanging around.” Officers found juveniles who said they were just looking inside of the windows. Building checked out OK.
  • 7:30 p.m. — LaGrange Police Department, William Schramm, 28, of LaGrange, arrested on theft warrant.

Saturday, Nov. 23

  • 11:45 p.m. — Grafton, LaGrange Police assisted the Grafton Police Department with a reported home invasion.

Wednesday, Nov. 27

  • 9:40 a.m. — 200 block Glendale St., domestic violence complaint. Howard Flanagan, 45, of LaGrange, arrested and charged with domestic violence.
  • 7:45 p.m. — Amanda King, 21, of LaGrange, arrested on outstanding warrants.

Thursday, Nov. 28

  • 2:49 a.m. —Depot Restaurant, 700 N. Center St., manager reported that someone was knocking on the door. Officers arrived and located an intoxicated male who was all wet. The man stated that his girlfriend had taken his car and he was trying to walk to friend’s house when he fell in a pond. He was transported home.

Friday, Nov. 29

  • 6:20 p.m. — 300 block Church St., neighbor dispute.
  • 8:30 p.m. — 100 Taylor St., resident reported that someone tried to break into a car. Officers arrived but could not locate anyone in the area.

Saturday, Nov. 30

  • 8:21 p.m. — 300 block Church St., a resident called and advised that her neighbor killed her cat. While speaking with the complainant, the cat appeared from another room of the home, uninjured.

Sunday, Dec. 1

  • 4 p.m. — 100 block Pleasant St., theft of a motor vehicle.
