ELYRIA — A Lorain County grand jury has indicted a man in connection with a shooting Sept. 11 on 16th Street.
Tony Carter Jr., 24, is charged with two counts of felonious assault and two counts of aggravated assault.
Carter was arrested Sept. 11 at his apartment at 1879 Turner Blvd., Elyria, after allegedly firing three shots and hitting 18-year-old Andre Jackson in the leg. A 6-year-old boy was sitting a few feet from Carter during the shooting, according to police.
Jackson told police he was shot during an argument outside between Carter and Delance Kimbro, the father of the 6-year-old. Police did not believe Carter was the intended target of the shooting.
Carter has faced weapons-related charges in the past, including having weapons while under disability in 2007 and 2009. Carter also was charged with aggravated robbery in 2009.
