LORAIN — A report of shots fired at a house in Lorain turned into a drug arrest on Tuesday when police say they found a man with 14 grams of marijuana and almost a gram of cocaine in his shoes and underwear.
Josiah Alls, 20, of Lorain, was charged with possession of marijuana, illegal conveyance of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of cocaine after he was arrested at 709 W. 21st St. about 3 a.m. Tuesday.
Police responded to West 21st Street, where a man said someone had fired a gun after an argument.
Joshua Brinson, 22, told police that a man came to the house on West 21st Street and started an argument in the driveway.
The man then pulled a gun and fired one shot into the air, Brinson told police. Police found an unspent .22-caliber bullet in the driveway but could not find the alleged shooter.
No one was injured, according to police.
After searching, police went into the house to talk to the men inside and found that Alls, who was inside the house during the alleged gunfire, had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court.
Alls told police he wasn’t carrying any drugs and was transported to Lorain City Jail.
At the jail, police searched Alls and found a bag of marijuana in his boot and a small bag of cocaine in his boxers, according to police.
Alls has been arrested for similar incidents in the past. In 2012 he was charged with trafficking drugs, possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Earlier in 2013, Alls was charged with trafficking marijuana and possession of drugs.
Alls was released on bond Tuesday.
