LORAIN — A woman was found Friday bound, naked and left for dead by the side of a country road in Erie County, and her alleged attacker is behind bars in the Lorain City Jail.
According to Lorain Police, at approximately 2 p.m. Friday, the Erie County Sheriff’s Office responded to Strecker Road in GrotonTownship, in response to a report of a bound, naked, adult female.
“The female had attracted the attention of a passing motorist and an off-duty Erie County deputy,” Lorain police Lt. Roger Watkins said Friday.
The woman, whose name is not being released, told law enforcement officials she was abducted from central Lorain and held at gunpoint.
She also told officers that she had been bound and sexually assaulted over the course of several hours.
The exact time of her abduction is still being determined, but Watkins said she was the victim of “multiple sexual assaults.”
The woman identified her attacker as Brian M. Jury, 38, of 10701 Strecker Road, Bellevue.
According to the woman, after Jury left the rural farming area, she escaped and made her way to the side of the road where she was later discovered.
The Erie County Sheriff Office, along with the Lorain County Sheriff Office, Lorain Police and other law enforcement agencies, began a search in the surroundings areas for Jury.
At approximately 6:30 p.m. Friday, Lorain police Capt. Tom Mize spotted Jury riding a motorcycle on West Erie Avenue in Lorain.
Jury was arrested on warrants for rape and kidnapping issued through ErieCounty related to Friday’s incident.
In addition, upon Jury’s arrest on West Erie Avenue, he was found to be in possession of two handguns, which were confiscated. He was subsequently charged with carrying concealed weapons.
“Several search warrants, both in ErieCounty and the City of Lorain, have been or will be served regarding this incident,” Watkins said.
The woman is being treated at a hospital in ErieCounty with non-life threatening injuries.
Jury is being held in the Lorain City Jail awaiting arraignment. He has no bond at this time and both Lorain Police and Erie County Sheriff’s Office expect to file additional chargers against Jury.
The investigation is on-going and involves several police agencies.
