Grafton, LaGrange crime: Officers respond to ongoing custody dispute

Friday, Oct. 25

  • 4:31 p.m. — 1000 block Vivian Drive, a woman advised that her soon-to-be ex-husband would not let her take her daughter for the weekend. The couple is going through a divorce and has not set up custody yet. The father was asked if he would allow his daughter to go with the mother for the weekend and he told officers “no.” Both parties were advised to contact their attorneys to get custody in place as soon as possible. This has been an issue for several months.

Saturday, Oct. 26

  • 8:40 p.m. — Greenbriar Apartments, a resident noticed pry marks from a possible crowbar around her door handle and deadbolt. An officer did notice four marks around the deadbolt. The woman informed officers she has a “hard time sleeping at night due to the door.” She requested extra patrol in the area.

LaGrange police

Wednesday, Oct. 23

  • 3 p.m. — LaGrange Police Station, complainant arrived and told officers that Timothy Hall, 55, of Mansfield, arrived at her place of employment and began making threatening statements. Hall was later charged with menacing.

Thursday, Oct. 24

  • 9:45 p.m. — 100 block Parklane Dr., Jason Arms, 40, of LaGrange, charged with domestic violence.

Saturday, Oct. 26

  • 6:30 p.m. — 100 block Parklane Dr., officers stood by while a resident who was recently charged with domestic violence and has a protection order against him retrieved personal items from the property.
  • 7 p.m. — 100 block Union Street, resident said that a napkin was on fire in the street and that he saw a juvenile near the area who has been known to start fires within the community.
