Cavaliers will be without backup shooting guard Iman Shumpert for seven to 10 days due to a left foot injury, the team announced Thursday.
Shumpert suffered the injury Wednesday while going up for a baseline dunk in the first quarter of an exhibition game against Atlanta. He slammed the ball on the floor, limped to the locker room and did not return after playing just two minutes.
Shumpert underwent another examination Thursday at Cleveland Clinic Sports Health, where team physicians Dr. James Rosneck and Dr. Richard Parker confirmed a sprained foot.
The Cavs host the Indiana Pacers in their second preseason game tonight at Quicken Loans Arena. The team has not yet decided if four-time league MVP LeBron James, who missed the opener with a sprained left ankle, will play.
