Scott Petrak's mock draft

  1. Cleveland: Myles Garrett, DE, Texas A&M. Would have to be blown away by a trade not to draft him.
  2. San Francisco: Marshon Lattimore, CB, Ohio State. The first of many Buckeyes.
  3. Chicago: Jamal Adams, S, LSU. Early for a safety, but he’s that good.
  4. Jacksonville: Solomon Thomas, DL, Stanford. With Tom Coughlin running the show, Jags build on defense.
  5. Tennessee (from L.A. Rams): Malik Hooker, S, Ohio State. Great range and playmaker.
  6. N.Y. Jets: DeShaun Watson, QB, Clemson. Picking a QB buys the decision-makers time.
  7. L.A. Chargers: Jonathan Allen, DL, Alabama. Might be the best player in the draft.
  8. Carolina: Corey Davis, WR, Western Michigan. Cam Newton gets help.
  9. Cincinnati: Reuben Foster, LB, Alabama. His athleticism, attitude fit with Bengals.
  10. Buffalo: Mike Williams, WR, Clemson. Should form nice duo with Sammy Watkins, another Clemson alum.
  11. New Orleans: Gareon Conley, CB, Ohio State, A third Buckeye secondary option not in play for Browns.
  12. Cleveland (from Philadelphia): Mitchell Trubisky, QB, North Carolina. Without a trade for Jimmy Garoppolo, Browns can’t afford to pass on best QB.
  13. Arizona: DeShone Kizer, QB, Notre Dame. The heir apparent to Carson Palmer.
  14. Philadelphia (from Minnesota): Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU. Eagles delighted he’s still on the board.
  15. Indianapolis: Takkarist McKinley, DE, UCLA. Colts need all the help they can get on defense.
  16. Baltimore: Derek Barnett, DE, Tennessee. Ravens must upgrade pass rush.
  17. Washington: Haason Reddick, LB, Temple. Defense the pick over a couple of quality offensive talents.
  18. Tennessee: O.J. Howard, TE, Alabama. A steal, and a great addition for Marcus Mariota.
  19. Tampa Bay: Dalvin Cook, RB, Florida State. A fellow Seminole to take pressure off Jameis Winston.
  20. Denver: Garett Bolles, OT, Utah. Necessary help for the offensive line.
  21. Detroit: Charles Harris, DE, Missouri. Lions looking for another pass rusher.
  22. Miami: Forrest Lamp, OG, Western Kentucky. A first-round lineman for the second straight year.
  23. N.Y. Giants: Christian McCaffrey, RB, Stanford. Versatile playmaker; great value at this spot.
  24. Oakland: Jarrad Davis, LB, Florida. He’ll soon be playing in Las Vegas.
  25. Houston: Ryan Ramczyk, OT, Wisconsin. Texans put off picking a quarterback.
  26. Seattle: Kevin King, CB, Washington. A possible replacement for Richard Sherman.
  27. Kansas City: Patrick Mahomes, QB, Texas Tech. He can sit and learn behind Alex Smith.
  28. Dallas: Taco Charlton, DE, Michigan. Cowboys need to do better rushing the passer.
  29. Green Bay: Quincy Wilson, CB, Florida. A better defense will help Aaron Rodgers.
  30. Pittsburgh: T.J. Watt, LB, Wisconsin. Good fit outside in the Steelers’ 3-4 scheme.
  31. Atlanta: David Njoku, TE, Miami. Best player available and a steal this late.
