The Browns signed free agent tight end Jim Dray, the team announced this afternoon.
Dray (6-foot-5, 255 pounds) had spent his entire four-year career with Arizona after being a seventh-round pick out of Stanford. He has started 18 of 55 games, totaling 33 catches for 302 yards and two touchdowns.
Dray, 27, is coming off his most productive season. He had career highs in starts (15), receptions (26), receiving yards (215) and touchdowns (two). He didn’t drop a pass, according to Pro Football Focus stats.
Dray, who had three, two and two catches in his first three seasons, is considered a good blocker. He should complement starting tight end Jordan Cameron, who caught 80 passes for 917 yards and seven touchdowns on his way to the Pro Bowl last season.
