Browns Notes

Redskins take control of Browns in third quarter

Washington used a pair of third-quarter touchdowns to grab control and lead Cleveland 24-14 heading into the fourth quarter.

After receiving the second-half kickoff, Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden attempted to hit Greg Little on a crossing pass when Redskins linebacker Rob Jackson leaped up and snagged the ball out of the air. Three plays later, Washington led 17-14 after rookie running back Alfred Morris scored from 3 yards out.

The Redskins increased their lead on the next possession with a seven-play, 60-yard scoring drive, capped by a 2-yard pass from Kirk Cousins to Lorenzo Alexander -- their second scoring hookup of the game.
