Browns trail Bengals 10-7 at halftime

CINCINNATI – The Bengals scored 10 unanswered points in the second quarter to take a 10-7 lead at halftime at Paul Brown Stadium.

The Bengals rushed for 90 yards in the half as the Browns struggled to stop Cedric Benson inside and outside.

The Bengals tied the game at 7 early in the quarter on an 18-yard run by Benson. Outside linebacker Jason Trusnik was stood up and pushed outside, and cornerback Eric Wright’s blitz took him out of the play.

The Bengals took the lead on a 25-yard Clint Stitser field goal with 4:19 left. It capped a 13-play, 68-yard drive that used 7:27.

The Browns had two possessions in the quarter and punted both times. They reached the Cincinnati 31-yard line with about a minute left, but McCoy was sacked and right tackle John St. Clair was penalized for a false start.

On the sack, McCoy had Peyton Hillis open on a quick out, but decided to recoil.

The Browns are in danger of losing to a two-win team for the second straight week.
