Built in 1908, the red brick schoolhouse was the first school for Westlake, Bay Village, Rocky River and a small part of North Olmsted, the areas previously known as the Dover Township. The first classes to come were from grades 1– 12, in the fall of 1909. This building served as an elementary school until the 1960’s. Later it became the administration offices for the Westlake Board of Education, until spring of 2003.

    The Clague House

The Clague Home was built in 1838 by Robert Clague. Today it's part of Westlake's history. The Clague's had nine children. The last two remaining children Walter and Sophronia donated the seventy-eight acres around the home to our city for a public park. The Clague home is a local museum in honor of the family. Many people enjoy the kind donation and are very thankful to them for their park and home.
