SHEFFIELD — An investigator has arrived from the State Fire Marshal’s Office to take the lead in determining what caused a blaze that destroyed nearly all of the vehicles of a local limousine company.
Sheffield Fire Chief Jeff Young said the state fire marshal was called in because of the high dollar amount of damage caused by the fire.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office confirmed an investigator was on scene Thursday inspecting the scene and conducting interviews, but said the investigation wasn’t far enough along to report any details.
The fire destroyed the building at 3739 Colorado Ave., which housed Statement Limousine. It was reported at 4:38 a.m. Wednesday and extinguished about 11:45 a.m.
Statement’s owner, Karl Guenther II, said all of the company’s limousines except two were lost in the blaze. Guenther posted Wednesday on Facebook that the company will continue to operate after rebuilding.
