North Ridgeville council approves bidding for wastewater treatment plant updates

North Ridgeville City Council approved the city entering into bids for updates to the French Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant.

The plant will receive three new disk filtration systems and a new paved driveway that will provide access to the filter building.

The city also approved the purchase of land so that a sanitary sewer along Westfield Drive can connect to the westerly sanitary trunk sewer. The current water main on Westfield is on a dead-end street.

North Ridgeville received no bids for its 2019 catch-basin rehabilitation project. City engineer Daniel Rodriguez said potential bidders were concerned about the completion date and the estimate for the project $125,000 was appropriated for the project. Rodriguez said they may possibly bid out the project again next week.

Two new firetrucks are coming to North Ridgeville as well. City Council passed a resolution for the purchase of the trucks. However, it will take some time for the firetrucks to arrive.

Council also approved the sale of two parcels that are not buildable because they don’t meet zoning size requirements.
