AVON — The city opened bidding for a project to widen Nagel Road from Middleton Drive to Detroit Road after Monday’s Council meeting.
City Engineer Ryan Cummins said the project aims to address increasing traffic and potential future developments in the area. Nagel Road will be widened to three lanes between Middleton and Detroit.
The project has an estimated cost of a bout $1.2 million with a portion of the funding coming from the Ohio Public Works Commission. The funding is in the form of a $250,000 loan and a $250,000 grant.
If the bids are received and accepted on time, the city plans to start and complete construction before the end of the summer, Cummins said.
