AVON — The Avon High School community is mourning the loss of a beloved educator.

Caitlin (Soucek) Kacher died Tuesday after a battle with cancer, according to her obituary and social media posts. She was 32.

On Thursday, Avon High School Principal Kristina Dobos Buller posted two photos on Twitter. One was of a decal she said the Avon Eagles lacrosse team would be wearing on their helmets that night — the initials “CK” and “4-9-19” inside a circle.

The second was of a yellow banner with daffodils painted on it and the words “KACHER STRONG” along with signatures of well-wishers.

“Our Eagles always manage to take my breath away. Tonight the boys Lacrosse team will be on our home turf wearing these helmet stickers. #eagleproud #kacherstrong,” Buller wrote on the first post.

“Loving on our Eagle Family today and every day,” she wrote on the second.

A Spanish language teacher at Avon High School, Kacher graduated from Padua Franciscan High School in 2004 and John Carroll University in 2008 before working at Avon High School, according to her obituary on the Corrigan Craciun Funeral Home website.

Calling hours will be 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Corrigan Craciun Funeral Home, 20320 Lorain Road, Fairview Park, with a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Leo the Great Church, 4940 Broadview Road in Old Brooklyn.

Survivors include Kacher’s husband, Todd, a business teacher at Avon High School; father Tim Soucek; brothers Kevin (Mary) and Brian, and sister, Laura; in-laws, Mark and Marlene Mroz, brother in-law, Bret (Anita) Kacher, nieces, Leah and Athena, and nephew, Noah, according to her obituary.
