AVON — Beerhead Bar and Eatery will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony this morning to celebrate its arrival in Lorain County.
The restaurant, at 1813 Nagel Road, had a soft opening Wednesday but will have its official grand opening at 10:45 a.m. today.
The event also will kick off grand opening weekend, lasting until Saturday and featuring special beers and live music including country artist Jacob Frish today and duet band Big Love on Friday.
The Avon location is owned by Aaron Rasmussen, Jim Maclellan and Eric Engelke of Three 30 Ventures LLC. The group was introduced to Beerhead after exploring opportunities in the hospitality industry, according to a news release. Rasmussen said they chose Avon because of the uniqueness of the location and the demographic in the area that showed the potential for success.
“The data really showed that craft beer sales and the demographic and growth between the locations surrounding Avon, it gave us all the data that says we should be in this area,” he said.
The bar has 400 beers and 50 rotating taps. It features a stage for live performances and a full kitchen with indoor dining and an outdoor, pet-friendly patio. The Avon location is under the Beerhead & Eatery founded in Illinois in 2012 under the original name of “The Beer Market.”
Beerhead Bar & Eatery will be open 11 a.m. to midnight Mondays through Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call (440) 695-0347 or visit the restaurant’s website.
